In an October 2011 study, 65% of the Boomers surveyed said they want to experience other cultures and exotic places, 65% expressed interest in all-inclusive travel packages, and 76% want the ability to customize their vacation experience.
They have the means to travel. Most of them are healthy and planning for the future, and they’re the ones carrying the economy. The Baby Boomer Tourism Summit held in 2009 called this generation “The Recession Boosters,” because it has “always been at the forefront of sector development and has a greater capacity to recover from the current economic downturn.”
They also have the stamina to travel. Boomers like to associate with people their own age or younger, but they no longer need to travel on a shoestring as is often the case for the younger crowd.
While Boomers are a more demanding audience than their parents and grandparents were, the good news is that they are willing to pay for whatever they deem valuable.
YOU can benefit from the coming travel boom.
