I envy you. It sounds adventurous, and you are seasoned travelers. Have a great journey to China via L.A.

Your excitement to go on the road again is almost contagious. Makes me feel so much to do something similar. You gave me the travel itch.

Unfortunately, I am the keeper of many of my kids' things, such as personal things which belong to them and are not suited to give away.

Your saying that you were robbed 3 times in a month reminds me what happened to my son in Durban South Africa. He was robbed twice of all his belongings in one month. This was bitter, as he only just had started working and needed to pay for expensive car repairs, to name just a few of the poor chap's expenses.

When we stayed at our house, which we later sold, we never had the tiniest robbery in 17 years. The moment it had new owners, they were robbed twice.

Otherwise, there are houses which are broken into again and again.
My daughter's in Durban North was never unfortunate with crime either.

However, what happened to others made her almost paranoid in the end, before she left the country for the Netherlands. She was doing charity work for Life Line. Doing such a job is hard, as you are not only bombarded with horror stories of crime against indigenous peoples, amongst others, but also have to give advice in personal matters which are often indirectly connected with robbing and other criminal incidences.

Anyway, this is now all yesterday's snow.

You are so lucky, that you had taken the decision to live in a fully furnished house.

Owning things makes us dependent, while having next to nothing leaves us free. It doesn't only give us freedom to move on.

You know I AM the volunteer to tote the Thesaurus to you. On the other hand, you could just get an international Kindle and have it with you all the time.
